We often toss and turn around when we can't sleep at night. When waking up, we often feel sleepy and grumpy. As we get older, sleeping patterns changes and restless nights can become more frequent. So here are some tips to help you get a good night's sleep:
1. Exercise
Exercise doesn't just help you trim down but has a lot of other benefits. It improves your metabolism, and it also boost the effects of natural sleep hormones such as melatonin. Exercising too close to bed time may be stimulating. Morning workouts are ideal.
2. Reserve bed for sleep and sex
Use your bed for sleep and sex only. Don't use it as an office or binge-watch Netflix shows.
3. Keep it Comfortable
Ambience can affect your sleep quality. Make sure your bedroom is as comfortable as possible. Ideally you want a dark and cool environment.
4. Eat, but not too much
A grumbling stomach can be distracting and keeps you awake, but so is a full belly. Avoid eating too much two to three hours before bed time.
